AM Steakhouse: A Concept RestaurantRestaurant Coronado, San Diego, California
A place of mystery and magic, where everyone is king for a night. The proposed Arthurs Steak House is broken up into three major components, the Cabanas, the Courtyard, and the Main Building. A patron will first enter the space through the Main Buildings Porte-cochere that leads into the entry garden/courtyard reception area. At first glance, the edge of the entry courtyard seems to be directly on the bay, due to an optical illusion from the edgeless water feature which carries the eye directly to the bay. The procession continues through the central courtyard that is surrounded by the Main building and a series of Cabanas that are reminiscent of the historical background of Coronado’s “Tent City.” The courtyard creates an outdoor space that it’s protected from the cold winter winds of the bay while taking full advantage of southern sun, making the outdoor space more usable during the winter months. Finally arriving at one of the Cabanas, patrons can be seated along the view to dine surrounded by water while enjoying the natural ambiance given the by San Diego Bay and the view of Downtown. The Cabanas offer an intimate and unique dining experience, by breaking away from the traditional restaurant dining area and creating smaller spaces where each patron can feel a sense of presence and worth. On special occasions the Cabanas can be rented out individually or combined depending on the size of the party. Arthurs Steak house will offer an exclusive experience in a casual yet upscale setting. This is another collaboration with come of age restaurateur, Alberto Mestre, of Candelas.
