AIA|LA exhibited its seventh edition of it's Residential Architecture Awards (RAAs) competition, celebrating firms and projects through an inclusive awards program which invites work at all scales from firms of all sizes. Projects remain in the category they were submitted in and are compared to work of like scale.

Home design projects from across the city, country, and even abroad were awarded a Merit, Citation, or Honor award − “Honor” being the highest − across ten separate categories.

Of the awards given, Design Opera had the privilege of receiving the following . . .

Frame Multi-Family Apartments (Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico)

CATEGORY - MULTI-RESIDENTIAL (SMALL) : HONOR AWARD

The project received lovely praise from the jury: "This post and beam construction in Tijuana creates streamlined sight lines on the exterior and interior spaces," and "The large terraces would allow residents to enjoy indoor/outdoor living while living in a high rise," while another juror simply stated, "Visually, I was impressed with the interplay of wood and concrete."
